1. Why a Forum?

Reason for a forum is when people visit your site they can meet at a gathering place and share information with each other relevant to your website. It would also encourage your visitors to engage in conversation and re-visit your site more often.

2. Can I list my forum with search engines?

Yes you can and it will help bring more people to your website this way because some visitors may want to only engage in discussion. ie the url would be http://amazingforums.com/forum/ACCOUNTNAME/forum.html (note:account name is in upper case)

3. Can I customize my Forum?

Yes you can. You can change the title of the forum, change the blank white background with a wallpaper, change the title text into a picture . New features that have been recently added are changing foreground, background, welcome message and links colors, notifying the webmaster when someone writes a message in the forum, language filter to reject foul messages, html code remover, delete entries from the forum, ban a user from the forum, advanced settings to personalize your forum and statistics of the visitors.

4. What is the limit per topics until old topics are deleted?

Upto 25 current topics are kept ie any old topic gets a reply immediately gets bumped at the top of the list. Also upto 50 replies in a topic are allowed until the thread is closed.

5. Will my forum ever get deleted?

As long as it stays active that is people use it after a period of months. If nobody uses the forum that is read or write after so many months then the forum will have to be removed because it's taking up unused space.

6. How come my picture images aren't being shown for background/title?

The most common error people make is not to type in the correct path. Make sure to verify that you entered the correct path. Easiest way to verify is to actually type it in a browser and see if the browser can fetch and show the picture, if it can then just cut and paste the address and use it in the customization configuration options.

7. Is this forum I get free?

Yes it is with some sponsorship support.

8. I'm using a WebTV browser and can't cut and paste the code?

You can type in the code manually if there is no options to cut and paste. When you are assigned a forum the path to the forum is (note: account name is in upper case)

9. How does my message board know I'm moderator and print (moderator) on my messages?

When you created your account or whenever you login to manage your account a password cookie is stored in your browser and whenever you write a message it's fetched and compared and if it matches it assumes you're the moderator, so for example you want others to manage your message board if they login to your account they will automatically become moderators of your message board too. If your cookie abilities are turned off (ie webtv browser) then this feature can't be used only for Internet Explorer and Netscape browsers.
